They do say that you dont have to qualify for the job credential and only for the duties. You could also try 4131 i guess

NOC 4121 needs duties involving research, advising graduate students, attending conferences etc, which I think is difficult to justify (duties) if you are a lecturer and are only teaching. If you can fit your duties in 4121, go for it.

Each case is unique. So do not file in a particular NOC code just because some one else got it with less qualifications in that code. My personal opinion is when you self-evaluate yourself you got to play the devil’s advocate and be real critical in your self evaluation. Imagine you are the immigration officer yourself, having the requirements for the particular NOC code in hand and then evaluating the applicant’s file.

I will suggest you do a real simple thing. Print out the requirements for NOC code 4121 and NOC code 4131 and put them side by side. Read them real carefully and see which one you fit in most closely. You will notice that 4121 requirements are more directed towards research and advising (seven out of 10 job requirements are towards research/academic advising). On the other hand NOC 4131 has more job requirements that fit lecturers who are engaged more in classroom/laboratory teaching.

So my advice to you is that do NOT see who got their PR card and who did not. Each case is unique. If you are doing the whole process yourself, evaluate yourself extremely critically and then decide which category you fit in. That way your application if fool-proof and you are not leaving things at the mercy of the immigration officer.

whichever is faster. My understanding is that if you were 'admitted' into the country for a year, then you can apply. Admitted doesn't imply that you have to have lived there but that you have the right to live there for a year at least.

I don't bother to reply to barking dogs.

(FYI, I am an assistant professor in a US university. NOT in some third world country like Bangladesh).

cheers

You are also originally from a 3rd world country. Stop insulting a whole nation because you are angry with one person. You think people are well off in your original country. Isn't thats why you left.

I have a question to ask you. Can I apply as a university lecturer category as my qualifications in only Bachelors in Engineering but I do have three years of lecturer experience in a university?
