Hi,

I am invited under CEC. I have two specific questions about pay stubs. Is pay stub mandatory? I am asking because, I was working while a student at 20 hours a week. Later on after getting my PGWP, i started working 26.25 hours. However the change in FTE was processed later and I have my paystubs that show the more deposit after a month and half. Would that affect anything? or in other words, do I need to provide pay stubs?

No. Good to have in some circumstances (people paid hourly wages), but usually not important, esp. if you are salaried and/or you provide the T4 and NOA.

Since it is getting late in 2017 and people won't have T4s for 2017 until next February-March, it is good to include a recent paystub or two for proof of experience in 2017.

And of course, you would not need to provide paystubs for your student work experience, since it is not eligible.

Hi,

Thanks.
I started working 26.25 hours from August 1st. The company took time processing the change in FTE (from 20 to 26.25 hours) and hence the difference of salary is reflected only in september pay check. I am claiming points from August. So basically august pay stub will not show that i was working only 20 hours while more salary will be seen in september pay stub. Moreover, i am salaried employee and my pay stub does not mention number of hours. Is that okay?

Hey DelPier, if my pay stub has the wrong YTD hours and my supervisor has provided an signed LOE with correct YTD hours, is it ok?
I would ask why you are providing pay stubs at all. They are not a required document, but sometimes do serve a purpose. So - why do you want to provide paystubs?

Generally, you would want to avoid contradictory information... but since your supervisor has provided the LOE, then it would be OK.

Since the pay stubs provide more credibility to my employment. I hesitated for a bit too if I should provide pay stubs.

My pay stubs have correct working hours and YTD amount earning for each month, except the YTD hours are monitored separately and therefore to reflect incorrect data on the pay stubs. I've explained in details in my own LOE to list the reasons why, and my supervisor wrote and signed a separate LOE which reflects correct Year-To-Date hours.
