My wife is going through a program at University of Alberta to become a teacher. She has a grant from the government which is specific to this program. I'm wondering if she would be eligible or ineligible for me to apply through her to be sponsored?

We've been married for 3 months , I've been in canada for almost 5 years and my post grad work permit is expiring in 4 months. Need help to get something going while I'm in the pool for EE. so at least I can get bridge work permit to stay ..

Should be ok to sponsor you. You might want to include an explanation letter with her sponsorship application that explains how you plan to support yourselves.

I have worked here in canada for over 2 years and have some savings. But currently unemployed (layed off). Any idea if that's gonna affect it? or is there a certain amount of money I should have?

Also, I keep reading we can't have two application going on at the same time, any reference anyone can direct me to showing that I can apply in sponsorship category while being in EE pool?

There are plenty who apply with little or no savings, and who's sponsors are not working either. Shouldn't affect you.

Thanks a lot, I'll go this way then. Wondering if I could have a pnp application going on at the same time?

Unfortunately I can't comment on whether or not an EE application and a PR application would affect you. My best guess is probably not. But take that with a grain..
