Is Military Service Frowned upon?

My husband served in the US navy, but reading some posts it seems like military service may be frowned upon?

Anyone know if this is true, or am I reading this wrong?

It's not frowned upon at all. It's that security checks "may" be more extensive depending on what country he served and/or any active combat. If he served in the US army and not overseas I wouldn't foresee it taking any longer.
