Hi All,
I'm currently on a visitor visa accompanying my husband, who is on a work permit. I'm currently living in Canada for the past 1.5 months (traveled to Canada in October 2022). I'm in the process of applying for an open work permit visa but my upfront medical exam expired in early November 2022. When I apply for an open work permit in the IRCC portal, there is a question on whether I have a valid medical exam within 12 months. If I choose 'No', then it tells me it is mandatory to get it done if you stayed outside Canada for more than 6 months.
Now the query I have is:
1. Should I get the upfront medical exam redone before applying for an open work permit visa? or
2. As per the temporary public policy announced by the Canadian government (link below), a medical exam is not required. In this case, is it safe to choose 'No' and proceed and provide expired medical exam information in the client information document? I have read in a few of the posts that IRCC will not consider applications without a medical exam.

Any suggestions on my query will help.
