Is medical almost always required for the study permit?

Hi, i applied for my study permit back in july. and i was wondering is medical always required for the study permit? i mean how often is it required because the visa application didnt ask any?

it actually depends on a country to country basis, if u r applying from a country with high health risks , then medical request is a definite.

it is compulsory!!!once ur documents are checked and visa officer is satisfy from ur dox he issues medical!!!and it takes 4 weeks to get visa after u r done with medical!!!!!!!!!

ya i knw it but my frnd my opinion was for him....as he is applicant from pakistan so made my statement for him so it is compulsory for every applicant i mean applicants from pak!!!
