is marrying illegal in canada

Hello, i am a us citizen i just moved to work in canada and i met someone who is illegal, he came with a student visa and he overstayed for 3 years. My question is can i marry him and bring him with me in the US or he woulsmd be sent back to his home country . Please and thank you

So illegal in the US or illegal in Canada ? Just marrying someone does not all of a sudden make them legal so for entry to either country they would need a visa of some description to even enter or stay.

You should really post this to a US immigration forum.

If he is out of status in Canada, you should assume you won't be able to bring him to the US immediately. It would be best if he returned to his home country.
