Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to request expedited processing under the Private Sponsorship (PSR) program for someone whose mental health is deteriorating?

The person is the principal applicant, has a history of psychiatric illness, and symptoms have recently returned. There is a family member (a daughter) already resettled in Canada, and reunification could help support recovery.

Biometrics have already been completed.
Would IRCC consider a humanitarian request in such a situation?

Any guidance or shared experiences would be very appreciated.
Thank you.

I don't believe an expedite will be considered. I would say that pretty much anyone who has applied through this stream is under a similar significant level of stress / pressure and so your situation isn't really unique. Having said that, you can certainly try sending a web form and see what happens. I think you would want to include medical evidence to prove your case.

The only truly expedite process in aware of is the upp process at the bottom of this page however that doesn't apply to your situation.
