You were supposed to have the intention to SETTLE in QC. Or did you just want PR?

QC can ask the same question to you.

hi

I am searching job, if i got in other province thn i can move or will i face any problem in future.

Thanks

This is such a common question. The truth is that nobody knows if you will have problems or not. You got PR from Quebec. You signed a document saying you will settle in Quebec. You are already on the right track if you are in Quebec now, looking for a job.

You have to think about, if somebody from immigration will at some point ask you the question, why did you not settle in Quebec like you signed in your statement when you applied for PR, what will you say? If you can honestly say that you tried to settle but after having searched for jobs high and low, you could not get one in Quebec but were able to get one in another province, I do not think anybody will find you at fault for leaving. It is also possible that nobody will ever ask you this question. It is up to you.

Hi leon

I got it... the only thing is it wont be any problem until ur PR card expires... if u go for renewal of ur PR may be we can face this question i think.... but will that be a problem... if u want to come back to quebec again...can we do tht...or willit be any problem

Thanks

I haven't actually heard of anybody who has had problems later on for moving out of their chosen province. It is only recently that immigration has started to examine landing PNP applicants for which province they are landing in and if they are going to their PNP province or not. Some people have had their PR visas cancelled and others have been given their PR but have been reported to the immigration in their province to check up on them later.

However, the PNP's are fairly new and nobody knows what they will do in the future. It is quite possible that they will at some point start to go after PR's who came in through their immigration program and did not stay. Since you only sign a statement saying that you intend to settle but no minimum time limit, the only way they could get you is if they can prove that you did not intend to settle in their province at the time you landed in which case you would have misrepresented yourself.

That is why, if you want to play it safe, you should look at your case from the outside. If you landed outside your chosen province and never even went there, that sounds like a good case for immigration to claim misrepresentation if they wanted to. If you landed there but left a couple of days later, also bad. If it were to happen that they go after you for leaving, you want to be able to say that you made a real attempt to settle in their province but your attempt failed because you could not find a job but did however get a job offer from elsewhere. I think it is reasonable that an attempt to settle and find a job should not be for less than 2-3 months. However, it is quite possible that nobody will ever ask you these questions so it is your choice what you do, your risk to take.

Id say 3 months the least, yes, since you sign an agreement that you're not going to turn onto social assistance etc and that you will have enough money to settle and successfully cover any costs of immigration for yourself and those accompanying you for the 1st 3 months. Also remember that QC will can/could attempt to be a real intermediary between employers and yourself as last resource for newly landed whom are still having hard time to get a job after those months, so maybe you would have to stay around for a bit longer and hope for them to fail at it, but I really do not know how it exactly works.

ohhhhhhh

thanks for the valuable suggestions......... will c how it works........

Best of luck on your endeavours!
