Hi there,

I am a BOWP holder that expires in December. Soon I need to apply for a new BOWP. What if I ask an officer to issue a 2-year WP, not 1-year — may I get my petition satisfied?
New WP means new MSP cards, new SINs etc. It's very inconvenient to renew all these documents every year. The whole process of renewing takes 4-5 months, and they valid only a year. Also, WPs/SPs fees are high for a family to pay each year (> $1K combined not counting medical exams).

Has anybody had similar experience?

Thanks.

Do you really think they care about our problems, going around and renewing all this and paying thousands in renewal fees? In my experience officers were giving less time on study(for wife) and OWP(for me). Instead of issuing 2 year study permit, we were extending it 4 times every six months.

But it also makes them work less. I mean if it is possible to renew documents less frequently, IRCC can focus on other applications. It's win-win solution. I don't understand why not.

I got 2-year WPs and SPs for my family. In the application I asked to issue permits valid more than 1 year. However, I had been waiting for 4 months.

The answer to my question is YES.
