Dear All,

I am very confused about my situation and would much appreciate it if you could help!

I've got my CSQ from Quebec and am currently in the process of PR now my question is: when the CIC agent performs my background check he'll find out that I am in the process of Diversity Visa (USA) as well (though i did not yet receive the seconde letter of interview meaning that my DV visa is not granted at the time being... Is there any risk of Canada PR rejection based on this ground?

I have searched the internet and did not find any previous PR refusal for the above mentionned reason

What do you think?? Thank you in advance!

I can't see why it would be grounds for a refusal. These are completely different countries.

Thanks a lot for your reply!

Actually my main concern is that the in charge of my Canadian PR would think that I do not intend to permanently reside in Canada since I concurrently have ongoing diversity visa application and therefore this could be considered as "misrepresentation of my intent to reside in Quebec"

If you are not applying for PR status as a provincial nominee, there is no "intent" to worry about. However, if you have had to declare an intention to settle in a specific province as a condition of a provincial nomination, you do have a problem. I don't know if a CSQ is considered a "provincial support" or not. Exactly which immigration path did you apply through?

A CSQ means that I have been selected by Quebec as "skilled worker" and am eligible for permanent residency I don't know if this is can be considered "provincial nominee". And yes I have had to "declare my intention to reside in Quebec" can you please advise on this? Have you seen similar situations before?
