Hi all,

I have a small doubt in creating my EE profile. I hold a 4 yr Bachelor's degree in IT from India. After that, I pursued my PG -Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Project management which is a one yr course from Centennial College. Since i already studied in Canada, is it necessary to obtain ECA for the bachelor's one? Kindly advise.

Also, many people are talking and debating about consultancies. some say its useless and time waste but others differ due to lack of inputs. I heard of consultancy firm Opulentez. They say they are the best in Canada and Australia much like Y-axis. What's your view?

No, you don't need ECA.

Not sure about consultancies. Though, I feel they won't be of any help and they charge insane money.

Consultancies are useless, for sure!
reagrding ECA, its better to have it done! i'm the the same boat as you. I got it done!

Any information a consultant will give you is readily available with just a little research. They're not worth the money, in my opinion.

Are you totally sure about that?

Doesn't he needs to do the ECA for the Bachelor anyway? (unless he just selects a one-year degree). But if we wants to claim points for "two or more degrees, one which is three years or longer" doesn't he needs to do the assesment?

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just asking for clarification regarding that.

I have the same question. I posted this question a few days ago and someone replied that it is needed. I am a bit confused now.

If you are applying under CEC where you have worked for 1 year in Canada, ECA is not essential.
But, you may do it if you want to increase your CRS score.

i am also a PG-diploma graduate from centennial college and it is necessary to do ECA for your previous education. i did mine waiting for results.

Two-year post-secondary program credential 91 98
Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer 119 128

i guess if you are not married or married your score should be 119/128 if its 91/98 then please do apply for ECA.

you get almost 15-20 points..

consultancy ??? if you are in Canada there is no need for a consultancy. just create EE profile add all legitimate info and you are good to go..
