Is it necessary to extend a visitor record for just 1 day?

Hi,
I work in Quebec as a researcher without any visa under an exemption for researchers that allows me to stay and work in the country for up to 4 months. The visitor record expires on April 10th, but there is a much cheaper flight on April 11th. Could there be any issues if I left the country on the 11th? Or is applying for an extension even for just 1 day mandatory?

You will be considered as overstaying if you leave one day later which could have impacts for Canada and potentially other countries. If there is a way where you could apply to extend your status or change to a visitor for the one day then you could leave a day later.
