Hi,
I'm Sagar, Having 7+years of experience in Piping Stress Analysis which comes under NOC-2132 read in one of topics. I am planning to apply Canada PR (FSW)under express entry for year 2015. How about job opportunities in Canada. I saw most of the jobs require Licensed as a "professional Engineer with APEGA". (Is it mandatory?) Without this registration are we able to get jobs? I am about to apply for PR, your guidance ll help me to proceed further. Please do the needful. Thank you very much.

Regards
Sagar

Junior Mech Eng EIT here Hello :)

To practice as engineer legally (sign off drawings, reports, mentoring etc), you will need to register with APEGA (or APEG of other provinces) If you are not doing those duties, you don't need PEng and you can apply with CIC under NOC 2132.

Hi,
Thank you very much.
Do I get jobs and PR under FSW without PE license? As I said earlier I have 7+ years in Piping Stress.

I think that is between your prospective employer if they give you a job before you have registered. (Sometime they may let you in first, then you apply for registration or transfer)
You can't practice engineering without registration or licensing with the province. If you are not doing work that requires licensing, then you won't need it at all.

you will need to check whether you can transfer your home countries' registration into the province registration. Or they will assess your previous experiences from overseas and then you will have to make up the rest of the requirement for licensing.

Hi,
Yes, I understood,But as per my knowledge under express entry (FSW) our CV ll be in pool, employers ll nominate us if they don't get any employees from Canada. Since We do not have PE license. Then what is the possibility of getting job and getting nominated by employers or even getting PR ? Our CV will be in pool for 1 year if not selected within year once again We have to apply & same procedure to follow.Sorry I am going in detail because I have to relocate with family with new hope.

Thank you
Sagar

Getting a job on its own is not easy, getting it out of town is harder, getting it overseas is even harder. (There is a saying around that people can't get an interview because they have a wrong last name)
As you said, employers can only hire from overseas if they can't find a match in Canada (LMIA issues). So you gotta really shine out of the crowd to be considered. Or you can find a Canadian job in your own way and outside of Job bank (provided they can arrange LMIA for you), or think of PNP.
