Hi, everyone

I have a question as below:

My permit expired in March and I have submitted for renewing in April (when i found it expired, but I think it would be ok in 90 days after it expired, am I right?), however, CIC currently is just working on applications received on March 13, and the processing time needs 44 days, which means that I may not received my new study permit within the 90 days, I am wondering whether I am still legal to stay here? My friend said that I can stay till it issued, even more than 90 days, it that true? I cannot find it on CIC website.

Thank you so much if anyone can answer me.

Once you apply, you get an implied status to live/study in Canada. So, you are safe upto the decision on your file.

Post Sec WOrk permit, Temp Work Permit, or Study Permit?
