Is it late already for new FSW program (Canada)

Hello Folks,

I am Manager with very reputed IT company and am looking forwards for applying to FSW-2013.

Is it late already and do I stand chance to make it (do necessary procedure and apply) ?

If you have a job offer in Canada....
you can apply at any time once your employer applies for and receives an "LMO".
If you don't have a job offer....
check your duties against the NOC (a Canadian list of job descriptions). http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Welcome.aspx

If you are NOC 2174, then in all likelihood you are too late for this year and should try again next year.
If you are NOC 2147 then hurry up and submit your application as it could be a close thing.
If you are a NOC not covered by this years list then you should wait for next year, or look for a job in Canada.

Thanks Loncan for the prompt reply, I am opting for NOC 2147 which as per current stat has only 88 applications, so is this not increased chances and have little more time ?

It's very difficult to say. The 88 count only reflects applications that have been reviewed and determined to be complete (not all applications received). Right now CIC is working on applications from the very beginning of June - so you should assume the 88 reflects applications up to the end of May. You can try submitting your application now. However given that CIC hasn't started processing most of the applications received in June, all of the applications received in July and all applications received so far in August - there's a pretty good chance you are too late. But again, you can certainly try.
