Is it compulsory to be back in a year

Helo all. I landed on first feb 2013 toronto and applied for my pr card. But their is very urgent work at home so i came back on 20 feb 2013 without getting my pr cards in my hand. Now yesterday i got my pr card. So is it compulsory to be back in between a year i.e. 20 feb 2014. Plz tell . Thanks in advance for your ans...

No - it's not compulsory to be back within a year.

To maintain your PR status you must live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 years. That's the only rule.
