Email or fax them if they have mailed it, as you wanna be sure that's it not lost. Write urgent and request and email reply

Hey fadi Pal,

Unfortunately I am not sure anybody can tell you what is going on, because it depends on your case, on the visa officer, and few other factors. So apart from waiting ( which is really stressful, I agree with you! ) there is not much to do.
Also - there is a notice on CIC website about Cairo office, see here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/cairo.asp

Important Notice

Due to disruptions, the services of the Visa Section of the Embassy of Canada may experience unusual delays. The visa office capacity to respond to enquiries is limited at this time. This situation may affect processing times for Temporary resident applications (for visitors, students and temporary workers).

So even if it says that it affects temporary resident applications, it might have an impact on all services. It might explain why you don't have an answer and why it is taking long...
If your file has been in the embassy for more than 14 months ( after sponsor approval), then you could ask your sponsor to contact his/her MP and ask for more information... I don't think that the embassy will answer emails and information request - they say that on the website, so I wouldn't recommend to go that way.

Good luck, I hope that you hear from them soon.

I have no idea, and I am not sure that anybody can answer that question (apart from the VO). A refusal is always possible until the last minute, even if they have your passport - it's not a guarantee that they will issue your visa. I hope that you hear back from them very soon.
Good luck,
