Hello all,
I was wondering if any of you have heard or noticed if CIC is not working too much on QSW applications? My application is handled by David Cohen law firm ( Canadavisa.com) and I was talking to my relationship manager and she said that QSW applications with CIC are taking longer than what is shown as the VO processing time.

For example, I applied in May 2014 and the timeline on NDVO is 10 months. Its already been 7 months and my file is not even in process yet.

Any comments?

CHeck your office http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-que.asp probably it changed if it is Hong Kong Currently is 11 months.

New Delhi has not changed since I have applied yet my file has not even gone into process yet. There is no information about if it is being processed or not in the ECAS. All it says is we received your application on May 2, 2014 and medicals have been received.

I do not see any QSW people getting any updates from any VO anywhere in the world? Is my deduction right?

Likewise.
It has been a year since the receipt of my application. 4 Nov 2013. I have not received any instructions or news so far. The indicated processing times for Singapore is 18 months. I’m currently in the 13th month of waiting now.

I’m not sure if there would be any developments from now until April.

My CSQ will expire in the summer of 2016. So for all that I know, the application might only get going one year from now………….

Are you saying that you did not receive any AOR or Medical Instructions yet from the Singapore VO yet?

No No.....AOR is 4 Nov 2013. CIC has also noted that the received application is considered complete. I sent the police certs and whatever that was applicable on the checklist.

The status has not changed since then. No instructions for medicals yet. Speaking of which, I'm expecting the CIC to instruct me to do the medicals via e-mail. Can I expect so, or should I expect something from the postman?

NO medical for over an year is strange. Did you try writing to the VO in singapore asking them for medicals instructions? May be they will bundle your Medical and RPRF and passport request together. different VO's work differently.

Yes email should be method they communicate unless they send a decision which is usually by mail AFA i know.

Hi Suryak86, I share your concern, I am an outland applicant under the QSW program and submitted my federal application since April of 2013. According to ecas, my status is in process since July 3 2014. I've already done medicals, police certificates, paid RPRF, FBI Certificates and am still waiting for whatever follows. I am worried because according to the CIC timelines, CPP-Ottawa resolves 80% of applications in 18 months and I am already on my 19th month .... Still hoping to hear something at any time!

if your time has surpassed the time indicated by CIC, why dont you submit a case specific enquiry into your application. Sometimes that might trigger an action from CIC

I am planning to contact our law firm today to inquire furthermore and have them reach CPP-Ottawa, as you mention, hopefully it triggers some action or attention. As you may understand the waiting has stressed me and my wife out of our minds and being so apparently close yet with nothing in our hands has taken its toll. The subject line on your post is exactly what's been on my mind as I've seen other categories receving DM and/or PPRs, hope it's not the case, I still hope to hear good news sometime this month or before the end of the year!

Did your relationship manager explained to you why QSW applications with CIC are taking longer than what is shown as the VO processing time?
Are you an inland our outland applicant?

I am an outland applicant too and my relationship manager just told me that they are delayed and just said that it was their observation with the cases they manage.

I understand how stressed you guys must be. Being so close to the end result yet not hearing anything is really tough. Did you order your GCMS notes? Also, if you are an outland applicant, why did you choose CPC ottawa, is the processing in your country slower than CPP Ottawa?

I spoke with my legal office today (also Cohen Office) and the admin with my file has suggested to wait until January 2015 before contacting CPP-Ottawa since it's only been 3 months since their last contact about my case when my FBI Clearance Certificate was requested/submitted.

It's almost the same time between both Visa Offices ...

Yes, I am a US applicant. Would make me the happiest ever to share good news ASAP :)

Best of luck to you too! Let's stay watchful of any QSW that receives DM or PPR from CPP - Ottawa, if I learn of someone I will share promptly!

I don’t know if it is ordinary or something to be worried about. One year is a long time and to have not heard anything from CIC is bad. However, all things being considered, CIC has clearly indicated that it take 18 months to process 80% of the application. So relatively speaking….it might not be too strange after all.

Maybe come January or February, if I do not hear from them. Then I’ll probably have to do something.

My passport will be expiring in Jan 2016. Do you think I should renew it now?
