I am from India (NDVO). Me and my wife are born before 1989, during which the birth certificate was not issues in most places and hence is not mandatory to have one for people born before 1989.
As I am the primary applicant for FSW 2013, I managed to get my birth certificate after a very long hustle and money expense.
But my wife does not have one and I sent a affidavit and school certificate as a alternative document to support her date of birth.
Everything is fine with my PR application and I am waiting for my MR, which can come anytime soon.
My wife not having a birth certificate, will that be a problem in 'any situation' after we land in Canada? Please list them
Is Birth certificate needed while applying for citizenship after meeting the no. of years residency in Canada?
I need to know this, as now would be the best time for me to get her birth certificate by appealing in local judicial court as it might become a even more tedious and costly task if I have to fly back in future to India to get her birth certificate.
Should I start taking steps to get her birth certificate?
I think I fall on senario 1 on this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/CIT0001ETOC.asp#CIT0001E4
Thanks in advance seniors
