Hi!
I'm planning to apply under CEC - I have 12 months of work experience on a post-graduation work permit. I'd like to know if a valid TRV is required throughout the 12 months to be eligible to apply.

I am a bit confused by this paragraph from OP-25A:
"9.2. Temporary resident status
The applicant must have had temporary resident status during the period of work which
qualifies them for CEC [R87.1(3)(c)]."

I have about 4 weeks between my TRVs - old one expired 8/8/12 and the new one was issued 9/5/2012. Is that going to be an issue for my CEC application? My post-graduation work permit was obviously valid through all this time.

Thank you very much!

No, your fine! I was in the same position ( I had about 3 weeks between my original and my new TRV). You would be under "implied status" during your renewal times.

Your PGWP gives you temporary resident status. You're OK.

Thank you for your prompt responses!
Just to clarify: I applied for an extension after the expiration of my old TRV, so I don't think I qualify for the implied status during that period.
However, if the TR status is based on my PGWP, than I should be ok, correct?
