Hello All,
I saw someone posting about a Police Certificate from a Police Station here in Canada. Please do we also have to include a Police Clearance Document from a Canadian Police Station.

Thank you,
Raph

I assume you are applying from within Canada. It is advisable to provide all the documents upfront to avoid delays or unnecessary cancellations. You need to do Criminal Record Check if you are applying from within Canada. I can't paste the link but search for Police Clearance in Canada and you will know what you need to do.

No police clearance is required from Canada, whether you live here or not, when you submit your PR application. This information is easily available on the CIC website -

How to get a police certificate - Canada
"Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No"

This is because CIC automatically conducts name-based searches of ALL applicants.

On occasion, one of these name-based checks will turn up a criminal history. That can happen if you have the same name as someone with a criminal record. Then, and only then, will CIC request a fingerprint-based RCMP check. But it is not required when you submit your application, and usually not required at all.

Police certificarte with fingerprints?
