I was doing Masters in Computer Science at a University in Dubai in 2020. The Dubai campus is a branch of the main UK university. The degree was supposed to be 180 credit hours. Per my research 180 credit hours is the minimum requirement for a UK Masters degree. Due to Covid-19 the university decided to not take any exam for 40 credit hours so the transcript now has only 140 credit hours as evaluated and remaining 40 hours as audited. The university will give a full Masters of Science degree.

My concern is that when going for Canadian Equivalency, my transcript will be evaluated which will show only 140 credit hours been examined by the university, while the minimum requirement for a UK master is 180. Can someone shed light on how WSE or other services evaluate a degree. Will this degree be awarded a Canadian Masters Equivalency?

Is there a way to contact WSE (or other services) to know if they would count it as Masters or not.

WES will not answer your query and instead will ask you to submit your documents and pay the fee, to get an evaluation.

You can try going with IQAS or CES. In either scenario, you will have to get the degree evaluated. If there is nothing you can do to change the number of credits, I would suggest to just go ahead with the evaluation.
