I think there is around 1650 NOC B out of 3353 total.

So from November - End of February we have almost 3500 apps. That is less than 1000 app per month. So don't think its going to fill total quota (if the numbers are correct).

Interestingly, i don't see any mentioning of NOC 2174.
Not really, because 2174 is NOC A.

What makes you think that? 2174 is NOC B in every sense of the term. Unless i have been fooled for a couple years while actually working in Canada on that :) I hope NOC categorization doesn't change between work permits and CEC :)

2174 is software developers - which is a skilled profession, not a technical or regulated role.

Nope, 2174 is NOC A. See http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/html/Matrix.html

NOC skill levels aren't really characterized by how 'regulated' the occupations are, but rather by the level of education required.

2174 is NOC A. The second digit of this NOC is 1.

Thanks a lot LPS. Really appreciate you correcting that. Probably i evaluated this at least a year back when i was initially planning to come over to Canada. I did submit bachelor degree for LMO. Some how i mixed / mis interpreted the first digit instead of second. I thought the first '2' makes it a B although 2174 is my NOC, instead of looking at the second digit which is '1'.

Upon your mentioning, i went through it again, and found you are right. Thanks again for correcting that.

So basically that means the sub cap of 200 per profession does not apply to me when i apply for CEC. Only condition is that the total application count should be under 12k.

Is there any other advantage of being in NOC A that is not in NOC B that i am not aware of. Please advise.
