I applied for study permit extension from inside Canada on April2nd,2021. On May18,2021, I received an update on my GC key stating that I need to provide IRCC with my medical within the next 30 days. The very next day I recieved a notification stating that my study permit was approved and extended until Nov30,2021.
My question is that why did they extended my study permit for only six months even though my degree will be completed in the next three years?
2. I have to leave Canada on emergency basis as soon as I receive my travel visa. My question is that is it possible that I can apply for my study permit extension again just after getting my medical done, and apply for the TRV at the same time. I mean can I attach a letter of explaination with the TRV application requesting them to give me visa till the date of the second study permit extension I got?
( keep in Mind the processing time for study permit extension in 57 days where as TRV is 107 days. This means I will get my second study permit approved before receiving a decision for my TRV application.)

Have you started your degree? When did you do your last medical? Did you include proof of registration? What’s this only one program?

Didn't you submit a letter from your DLI as to when your course ends? Why were you given a short period at first? TRV processing time is all over the place rn, it may take longer.

If it's a mistake from IRCC, send a webform, with a letter from school outlining when you're gonna finish your program.

Do you go to a private college/university?

1. I did submit the letter from my DLI. However, the end date was not written because the advisor said that time for the completion of degree varies for each student. There was a credit hours chart at the back of my enrolment letter and the officer himself had to determine the number of years left in completion of my degree.
2. I was given a two year because because my passport was expiring in two years.

I have started my degree and I am in my second year right now.
I didn’t had any medical done because at the time I applied, medical wasn’t required
I did include proof of registration

Assume the fact that you didn’t have a medical and lack proof of your registration has an impact. Would complete the medical, send in proof that you are registered in the 2nd year of a 4 year degree and proof of your marks for the first year and any completed semesters in the 2nd year. Would then ask for reconsideration of the expiry date of your study permit and explain your expiry date was given mid degree and not for after your degree was finished. That’s all you can do. If not you’ll need to apply for another extension right before the expiry date of your current study permit.
