My passport and CoPR have been ready since last Monday but IRCC won’t mail them for some reason. I called today for the second time and the agent said they needed to verify my mailing address (I’m currently in Alberta visiting my partner) and she said that they needed a PO Box number for some reason, not sure why since I provided a Canada post priority envelope and the address for courier services. Now I’m worried they will just send my passport by regular mail instead of the priority envelope I provided?

Some addresses in Canada ONLY have a PO Box number, while others use the 'normal' house address (but are then delivered to a neighbourhood group of mailboxes (I have had both at different addresses in Canada).

You should give them the address that is used for mail delivery.

But it does sound to me like they are planning to shove it in the regular mail

In my case, my partner and I are staying at a staff residence and we’re only given a P.O. Box number, however, given that I’m expecting sensitive documents the management of the building provided me with a courier address which is what I completed on annex A since like I said I submitted a priority envelope. Just find it weird that they are taking so long to mail my documents and now they ask for a P.O. Box number
