Hello All,

Need some help/advise regarding inviting my Mother from India to Canada on a Visitor Visa (TRV). My husband and I are working in Vancouver, and are planning to have my mom over for 2 months. To account for the entire trip expenses, We would be submitting our pay stubs, bank statements, apartment lease & PR docs etc. But the tricky part is showing Proof of Funds/ Home Country ties from my mother's side.

Here is the situation. My mother has been a homemaker all her life, and most of our assets in India (House/Land) are in my Dad's name. Dad is in business.
Would you guys recommend I apply visa for both of my parents together in order for the application to get approved? (Just because I feel that my dad's business & asset docs could serve as a strong economic and home country ties).
Please do let me know if any of you have applied visa just for your mom and got through?

Thanks a lot for your time!

Economic ties are easily addressed by having your father write a sponsorship letter for your mother. The challenge would be to demonstrate ties to home country when spouse and kid are working in Canada. You would have to address perception that your mother might overstay after coming here on temporary resident Visa

Thanks subodhp for your reply! May be I should have worded it better. My father is doing business in India and currently reside over there. Do you still think that my father should write a sponsorship letter for my mom in the event of applying TRV just for mom? Appreciate your time.

It is common and acceptable to provide financial means of spouse. So no worries on that front
