Hello folks,

I've received invitation to PR but I just don't know what to do..

So when I entered the express entry profile in the beginning, I put yes when the question asked, "Does XXXXX have a job offer in Canada?"

Then I scrolled down to answer another question which was: "Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the job offer in Canada?"

So I said, "NO" since I have post graduate work permit (PGWP) with a job offer currently working but no LMIA required.

I haven't submitted my application yet. It will be another two weeks till I collect all the information for submission. And my PGWP is expiring in the beginning of coming August. So, my concern is about "JOB OFFER." I was told by consultants to submit the job offer provided by my current company to the CIC, but my company won't provide me the job offer letter if I were to leave/quit my company due to the expiry of the work permit. My company is just too big to care about one employee's immigration situation and this position I'm in just can't be left out for a long time. Maybe one month but that will be the max. I don't know how I can convince the HR to support me in the job offer letter....

Also, I've read on the cic website that I need the second AOR receipt/letter for BOWP. Even if I submit all my documents in 2 weeks, I will only receive the first e-APR (electronic pr application) and won't have enough time to get the second AOR - which is the one that I need to BGWP.

To summarize - I don't know what to do about getting the job offer letter from my current company when my PGWP is expiring very soon and won't be able to work with them until I get my full PR. Second, I don't know what I need to do to prepare for the permit expiration. Also, there are just so many grey areas in the express entry system. So frustrating! :-[

I'm sorry for being all over the place throughout the message.. but getting an invitation doesn't feel that great when knowing that it is very very hard to get the necessary documents from the current employer.. ???

Anyone..please help, advice, suggest..

Thank you!

I'm afraid you will have to refuse the invitation.
You can only get Job Offer points when you have a LMIA.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/offer.asp

But I didn't get any points for the job offer.

My score is at 400's and received invitation based on that.

The express entry profile was asking if I have a job offer, which is "yes" since I am currently working at a company. But when the second question asked, "does this job offer require LMIA?" then I said "NO."

So I didn't get any additional 600 points for LMIA. All the points received were pure numbers based on my Canadian work experience, education, age, and IELTs score.

???

Anyone plz?

My score was on 400s - no points received for clicking "job offer" in the express entry profile. I made sure to click "No" for no LMIA for this job offer in the express entry.

Is the job offer letter still required by my current company when my pgwp is expiring very soon?

:( ........................

Hats off to cic canada that the people who have struggled through their life to set up canada as their home is now begging them to give Them pr.

If you received an ITA, and you did not have the extra 600 points for an LMIA, the go ahead and apply. But yes, you *will* need the job offer letter from your employer, if you ticked that you had one.

You'll need a letter from your employer anyway to confirm your work experience, surely?

TL:DR: if you have the required points I'm not seeing the problem.

Didn't you retain a copy of the "offer of employment" when you were hired? Shoot.

Have you tried approaching your supervisor? You don't have to go to the HR. Just prepare the letter, print it and take it to your manager along with your ITA and the checklist which has the requirements of the "employment reference letter". I don't think your manager will be so cold-hearted to not to sign a piece of paper.

yeah sorry but even if you didn't get points for a job offer, you're only supposed to say yes to the job offer question if you do have an LMIA. The questionnaire isn't written as well as it could be and many many people are confused by this one. The problem being that they clarify on other pages on their site that a valid job offer is only one that comes with an LMIA or was based off an LMO. As you said yes to the job offer question, they're going to request proof of it and a job offer letter isn't the same thing as an LMIA.

But either way, you do need a letter of employment from your HR confirming your job, length of service, duties, pay, benefits etc.
