Hi,

My company is transferring me from US branch to Canada Branch, and applied Canada Closed Work Permit on Jan 26th 2016, still waiting for approval, please share your time line so who ever is in same boat can have some idea.

Applied at US, New York Consulate.

It took about 3 months for mine to get approved.

Mine is the same too.. I got transferred from US to Canada.

Timeline:

Applied on: October 26th, 2015
Passport request on: Januray 29th, 2016

I applied on December 15 from USA , got my results on March 29 for passport submission to NY office.

Do any one know how long it takes for NY Canada Office to stamp visa and return passport ?

I submitted my online application on 4 February 2016: Intra company transfer from UK (London) to Calgary.

Has anyone completed a UK transfer recently and has an idea on the timeline?
The current Waiting Time recommended online is 1 month... its been 2 months so far.

Can you provide some context to your timeline i.e. nationality, online submission date, total processing time, additional docs required...?
I am hoping there is someone else applying for an ICT from the UK - Canada and experiencing a similar wait.

Hi ttrc2,

I am applying for USA and i think overall process for ICT work permit should be same, other than few documentations. One thing i would like to mention is you need to have patience because there is nothing you can do during processing time ( i.e. once you submit your application and you receive passport request letter). CIC normally take 1-2 weeks addition to what they show on their website under application processing time for your country; i think mostly because its average processing time.

To help you understand overall Intra-company WP process, here is my info

I am an Indian Origin, currently living in USA.
Intra Company WP Visa application : Dec 15 2015 ( USA to Can)
Passport request : March 29 2016 ( I came to know after 3 days)
Additional docs required : my company lawyer took care of that ( I needed to submit Police clearance Cert. from India and USA )
Sent Passport to NY office .. waiting for passport with Canada visa stamping

I am also Indian Origin and living in US and applied my Canada ICT on 26 Jan as I mentioned in my first post.

No updates Yet, No additional documents also requested, however I already applied and got Indian Police Clearance Certificate and Applied for USA FBI Clearance and waiting for its approval as well my Attorney says it will be take 14 to 18 weeks to process that (FBI Clearance).

Have a quick question, my WP applied for 1 year however I might have to stay 2/3 months more so I was wondering for how long WP usually granted, is it exactly for how long you applied?

members who got approval recently can please give us some details on this.

As per my understanding, they look at :

- How much period you are asking on application ( in your case 1 yr)
- how long is your passport valid date

then they choose which ever is earlier --

Considering hypothetical cases if they are issuing your visa today :

- If you have passport valid through Dec 01 2017 and if you are applied for 1 year WP, then you should get 1 full yr visa
- If you have passport valid through Jan 01 2017 then if you are applied for 1 year WP then you will get visa till 01 Jan 2017

Thanks for the reply, so I see, it will be approved for the period you applied for, not more than that, in case your passport is valid.
