I'm a single applicant over 55, so I don't have to take the citizenship test, just go for an interview and document verification. I have a couple questions. Can a spouse go into the CIC office with the applicant and wait in the lobby? Will the citizenship officer allow the spouse to go into the interview room with the applicant? Anyone have any experience with this?

no they wont allow your spouse go to the interview room with you... She would have to remain the entire time outside the building waiting for you..

I talked to someone tonight in person who drove his wife to her test. He said he waited for her inside the building in the waiting room. He didn't have to wait outside in the car. Of course, I know a spouse can't go into the testing area, I was asking about an interview. I guess that's treated the same.
