If I am on a study permit in Canada that expires in 2 months and have already applied for an extension, can I still go to the US b1/b2 visa appointment that I booked a year ago?
If yes, what should be the ideal tentative date to travel in my form?

I presume your interview will be at a consulate in Canada. There is nothing stopping you from going to it. Pick a date, any date, I don't think it really matters, just give an idea of when you might want to go and why.

Yes, it is in Canada. Thanks for the help! Appreciate it! I was just wondering about TRV as well, since I don't have it as of now too. Would that be a requirement too for the moment?

A Canadian TRV being a requirement for what? I imagine your TRV associated with your SP will expire same time as your SP. If you plan to leave Canada and return you will need a visitor visa, is that what you mean? If so then yes you should apply for a new TRV as well.

No, I wanted to check in for my US visa appointment, would they be looking for that as well? As I don't hold a TRV for the moment.

That's an interesting question that I don't have an answer for. If I had to guess I would say not required for the interview but obviously is required to go to the US or anywhere else and return to Canada. Maybe you should apply for a TRV now, you would have to do it eventually if you plan to leave and return to Canada. Then you could have the proof of the TRV being applied for if it came up in the interview. When is the interview?

Yes, I shall apply for it before I plan to leave for travel destinations, I was just wondering if that would be an important aspect as well for the approval of my visa. I have an appointment next week. I have just applied for extension last week, so cant apply for TRV till that gets approved.

Why can't you apply for TRV until SP extension is approved?
