Hi Guys,

The documents that we need to take with us for the interview, do i need to print my application form and residency calculator as well? or just supporting documents?

also , i landed in 2010 , and my current passport was issued in 2009, do i need to take my old passport before 2009?

please help.

When you applied, didn't you provide a copy of the biodata page for both the old passport and new one? That's what is written on the document checklist or the guide. It does not say you can omit one if it's outside the 4-year period.

Also, the test notice says to bring all travel documents (current and expired). So yes, take the old passport.

I took originals of what's checked off on the test notice (PR card, COPR, passport(old and new), etc) and a copy of the application I submitted, just in case.

Thanks, i only submitted my current passport which covers the last 5 years with my application. but my question is , my old passport is outside of 4 (actually 5 year period). because i landed in 2010 and my current passport was issued in 2009. I don't have my old passport with me right now.

at the interview, did they take a look at your old passport? did you take residency calculator with you too? how about the receipt of payment?

does the office go through all original supporting documents? (employment letter , statements all that?)

thanks

I landed in 2010 and my current passport was issued in 2009 and its still valid. Do i need to take my old passport (before i landed ) with me for the interview?

please help?

Technically, you will only need the one issued in 2009 since it is the one that you used to apply for citizenship. However, you also want to play a safe game so I will recommend you to go with all your new and old passports. Remember, you do not want to give them any reason to delay your oath ceremony.

Cheers,

No need. I presented 1 passport only issued on 2009 and it expired on 2014, she didn't ask if I have any other passport.

According to the Instruction Guide (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/CIT0002ETOC.asp#CIT0002E4):

Provide photocopies of the biographical pages of all passports and/or travel documents (valid and cancelled) for the relevant four (4) year period immediately preceding the date of your application,

The CIC letter says all valid/expired passports and travel documents without addressing any specific period. However, I agree with you since the officer that I interviewed with only went through one of my 10 passports: the one I used to apply for citizenship. Go with both passports will not hurt his/her chance to get oath invitation.

Cheers,

I used pre-PR time, so the officer looked at my old passport, probably because it contained my original entry stamp.

I made a copy of my full application and brought it with me. The officer had a copy of my application including the residency calculator.

The only thing the officer discussed was my employment, checked the stamps in my passport against the residency calculator and asked questions.
