Hi All,

I have a query about the interview (i'm not there yet) and was wondering if anybody has had the same situation.

We have applied outland through the London VO- my sponsor is back in Canada and I will soon be joining her. Naturally we will update our address via CIC but I was wondering if the interview will still likely be back in London? I'm aware that lots of people have made outland applications while still being in Canada so hopefully this is a common consideration for CIC.

Ideally I'd like to avoid having to fly back but it would be good to know so I can ensure there are spare funds for us to make a return trip.

Many thanks.

I was thinking about that today myself! We applied outland (San Diego) back in May and now we will be moving to Canada in a couple weeks. We have LA as our VO. I really hope we don't have to fly back out here for an interview. I wonder if we can switch VO as there is also one in Seattle.

If interview is required it will go through the VO handling the application. If applying outland whilst residing in Canada, I believe if your VO is London, then London will be destination of any interview.

I don't believe you can change VO once application has been submitted. I may be wrong on this 1 but I think once application has been submitted your designated VO will continue throughout application.

Correct.

If an interview is required - it will be held in London.

CIC will not change the visa office and transfer your file just because you've moved.

Thanks all!

In that case, I hope that the interview is waived!

Thanks All.

I didn't really expect (or want) CIC to transfer the file. I was just interested as I've seen lots of people apply outland while based in Canada and I've not read any mention of this point as yet.

I was hoping that perhaps they are less inclined to interview in this instance but, of course, they need to follow their process.

I provided them with enough paperwork to sink a ship so fingers crossed.

Whether an interview is called has nothing to do with where the application is currently located. Instead, interviews are typically called when CIC has doubts the relationship is genuine. If you provided a large amount of evidence in your file, then the chances you'll be called for an interview are likely extremely low. I honestly wouldn't worry.

So i just went into the CIC website to change my address as we're leaving in two weeks, and they didnt even have my old address on file? What the hell?!?! I went in and just put my new canadian address and changes to take effect in about 15 days.
A little unusual!

The disappearing address isn't unusual, don't worry about it.
