Interview, is that always required?

hello,
we are still trying to wrap our heads around how exactly spousal sponsorship works.
We are reading a lot about interviews, are they a necessary step for approval or they get only required if the Officer has doubts about the relationship?
In case it is mandatory and either the sponsor or the applicant are not available due to work commitment, can that be rescheduled?

Hi there. Interviews are only required when there are doubts, most of the times doubts about the relationship. The interview is only for the applicant, but if he/she cannot attend, it is possible to reschedule it. In the letter you would get they would tell you where to contact them to reschedule the interview.
