Doing a court marriage to try to start sponsorship or other permit process happens a lot and given the interview there are concerns about whether you are actually married.

As a Canadian, we must accept how our Immigration system checking everything prior to see the true relationship and protect from all fraud. We know relationship takes time to build-up. you do not worry for now as you already knew what will happen but for the future just prove your relationship with all evidence. I hope for the best!

Answering your PM here. You can explain that you withdrew your first application when you realized that a court marriage was not sufficient for sponsorship and you would need to complete all religious/cultural ceremonies before being approved for sponsorship. No it shouldn’t be an issue if you keep showing that you are in a genuine relationship.

There are two tests a marriage must pass to be acceptable for family sponsorship , the relationship must be genuine AND the marriage itself must not be primarily for an immigration purpose. Unless I misunderstood you , you just said you did the marriage primarily for the visa. I certainly wouldn’t say that at the interview or in the application. It sounds like your relationship is genuine as you have plans for the future, nevertheless you will in all likelihood be refused. If I were you I would see if you could withdraw your application without prejudice. Because once they issue a finding of a marriage for an immigration purpose , you have a VERY tough road ahead.
This seems like the best option now. I have plans for the proper marriage on 11 March 2020 after that I am also going on the honeymoon. After that, i will have all the proofs and photos. So, I will apply again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you do get an interview. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if you passed your interview and succeeded in bringing your spouse here. It sounds like you’re in a bonifide relationship but you jumped the gun and went about it in the wrong way. You might want to consider a lawyer at this point. Because you are quite far along in the process and it’s not going in a good direction. It will cost you , but if you mess this up badly , it could cost so much more. That’s just my thinking anyway.
On the other hand you could say nothing about getting married for a visa. Never say that again! You could explain to the officer that you have plans for a real reception and wedding party, honeymoon etc...but will be doing these things later because of your studies. impress upon him/her that you got married quickly because of your intention to be together as a family. Maybe that would work. It’s a tough call. I feel bad for you. Canada’s immigration laws are pretty nuanced. Maybe getting a professional to take a careful look at the whole case would be the most prudent course at this point. Good luck man!
It is pretty obvious that this is not the actual wedding when it is in the backyard with no parents and a few family members and they haven’t lived together for an extended amount of time and eloped and this wasn’t a small wedding because all the family opposed the wedding.
