Anybody knows if the Visa officer would accept an Internship (non paid, but bachelor degree related) as work experience?
If not, would they if it was paid?

Also, what kind of problems can the Visa Officer encounter on the work experience provided section? I don't see many cases where permits are denied cause of work experience section but if you know of any let us know so we have that in mind :)

1. No, it has to be paid employment.

You'll need to be more specific. What are you applying for? Temporary work permit? Immigration?

I am focusing in to the Federal Skilled Program.

Which programs if any do accept internships as work experience?

For FSW, reasons for refusal related to work experience are if the VO doesn't feel you actually got experience in the NOC (occupation) you claimed, another issue can be if the experience letter is poorly written by your employer, another reason for refusal is if the VO doesn't believe you have at least one year of full time paid work experience.

Work experience is always paid work experience if you're applying to immigrate. Unpaid internships don't count.

I see, thanks for your reply, very useful.

Is there an official form for the letter written by the employer that must be used?
Also how much evidence does the VO need to believe it was a paid job? (bank extracts with job salary or simple declaration from the employer suffice?)

No - there is no official form employer must use. However the letter must mention your duties and those duties should be a close match to the NOC description without copying the NOC description word for word (this is another reason why applications are sometimes refused).

You need to provide payroll stubs or a payroll statement or something similar from your employer.

I'd recommend that you join the Skilled Worker section of this forum. The questions you are asking are already extensively covered there by others who have applied.
