Hello everyone,

My sister is finishing her University degree in Colombia and she is interested in looking for an internship in Winnipeg MB. I was wondering if someone has done this process. I was checking and it looks that she doesn´t apply for International Canadian Program (IEC) and some of the organizations don´t have office in Colombia or don´t have internships here in Winnipeg. I live in MB and she would like to come to Winnipeg as she could stay at my house.
I appreciate any help and guidance in this matter.
Thanks,

Angelica

Internships even unpaid usually require LMIA and work permits. Most companies are not willing to go through the time or expense.

If the internship is not part of her studies(I am assuming it's not since you mentioned she's finishing University) and she does not have a letter of support from a RO, I don't believe she qualifies for IEC International Co-op internship. The other categories of IEC do not apply to Colombian citizens.
Good luck.

Hello, thanks you for your answer. Well, the internship is part of her studies, she needs it in order to get her degree. What is a "RO"? Thanks!!
