Hi Friends,

I need to travel internationally on work permit to Indonesia. I have already submitted documents in (AOR) on 11th March. Do I need to inform CIC now about this planned travel? It is going to be around 5-6 months long (sponsored by the employer). Also, if CIC request passport for stamping during this time, how can I manage it? I will be in foreign country and so can't send my passport for stamping.

To add to this, I have not declared my current employment in the application. I have shown myself as unemployed from Feb 2016 when I quit my last job. Now, the new employer is sending onsite with work permit.

So, do I need to inform CIC about the work permit?
Can CIC ask for explanation about work permit as I have shown myself as unemployed?

Thanks!!

Travel after AOR is not an issue and does not need to be reported to CIC.

Passport office can be changed for stamping pupose at a later stage based on when and where you receive your PPR.

Suggest you to inform CIC about your new employment as this does affect your file. May be other senior member can comment further on this.

Good luck.

There is no need to inform CIC about the new employment - it doesn't affect the application and points for the work experience.
The only case to contact them - if one has an LMIA, which is not a case here I guess.

Thanks folks for the reply!!

Unfortunately, I can't inform CIC about my employment as I declared myself as unemployed while submitting application on 11th March whereas I am employed from 1st Feb. So, just in case if I am asked to submit offer letter, it will be a problem. :-[

So, as I understand, if applicant is travelling internationally after submitting AOR (either on business/work/personal/tourist visa) s/he is not required to inform CIC.

Thanks!!

Why'd you say that you were unemployed if you were working when you submitted the application?

To avoid submitting documents and going through BGC with new employer.. If the employer gets hint that I have applied for PR then it might unnecessary create complications.
