International temporary residents married in Canada - Query

Hello!

I'm a Post-graduate permit holder from India and I got married recently. My spouse is a tourist visa holder from Brazil. We got married in Canada and in few months I will request an open work permit for her. We will apply PR together as well as I am eligible.

My question is that do we need to update our marriage status to our Countries? if so how ?

No. Your Canadian marriage certificate is all you need.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering, its true that our countries won't recognize our marriage but we are planning to settle in Canada. If ever we have to move back we can declare this then or when we need to update passports

P.s I asked her to keep her old name to keep things easy.
