Hello,
Im an International student in Toronto and I have my IDL aswell, I am an Indian from Maharashtra.
I'm permitted to drive a Car, motorcycle and a not geared motorcycle.
So to be able to get further experience by getting an Authentication Letter from my RTO, I have over 3 years of experience and this is the format of the letter.
Make sure that the local RTO address is listed and both the logos are there aswell.
Just fill in the details according to your license and calculate the experience you have.
The RTO Officer needs to sign and stamp it.
This is the format....
Fill away and study for the Test upon arrival.
The local RTO officers are pretty lost on the subject and most of them here don't know what is happening.
I have my Ontario license and this format is what needs to pertain your details and stamping.

Just copy and past this link in a new tab to view

I have blacked out the date, please delete the brackets and have your own data filled into it. Also have them stamp and sign it too!

Also if you get it done from the RTO I did, they are going to create an issue as they don't know a thing about it.

Happy Driving.

But? After 60 days you need the Ontario license.

I got to agree with you, ive looked in so many websites for the letter layout and template as officer said type letter and bring it.
Thank you for the format and congrats on getting your ONT one.
I just need to add in my details and get it verified from my RTO correct?
Thank you so much!

Heya thanks bro really appreciate this kindda posts..!

Wouldn't it be easier to have the embassy/consulate translate the license for you when in Canada?

I really don't know!
But according to the Ontario Website and a few others I need to have it with me before I leave from here.

http://www.ontario.ca/driving-and-roads/how-can-i-get-my-foreign-drivers-licence-translated

"Approved translators include: non-Canadian embassies, consulates, or a high commissioner’s office, but do not include other translators from the country where the licence was issued."

Mine even has symbols but I still need a letter from the autority here or the embassy confirming my license. Go figure. I even drive on the right side and still have to go through tests, whereas someone from UK can just exchange their license.

Can I get a letter from the Embassy here? Ill have to travel to Mumbai for it if these "luna****s" don't issue me one, or could the one in Ontario give me one? Anyone has got it from the ONT Embassy?
In Ontario is the steering on the right or left of the car? ???
Like in Dubai Its Left Hand drive - steering on the left of the car, and India its Right hand.

Honey, time to put your thinking hat on and take off your panic hat.

You're in India. Does India have an embassy in India? Think! In CANADA you go to the Indian embassy (or consulate) and have them write the paper that you need to authenticate your license. The link I posted goes to the Ontario driving authorities which regulates how it works there. READ the website.

Also, Ontario is not a country and therefor has no embassy or consulate - anywhere. Ontario can not authenticate your Indian license. Your INDIAN embassy/consulate can.
