Hello folks,

Can someone please advise me?

I began a 2 1/2 year MFA course at University of Alberta in September last year.

I have to wait until I have been studying for 2 years before I can get the extra points on my immigration score.

My question is this: does this mean 2 calendar years or academic years? I will finish my second year classes in April next year and will have completed 2 'years' of study although I will only have been in Canada for 18 months. Obviously I'd like to apply as soon as I can. I'd be very grateful for any insight.

Thanks in advance!

Which immigration program are you planning on applying under? Generally speaking, you don't get extra points until you actually complete your degree.
