International IT recruitment in BC and Alberta

Hi all including BCGuy,

I m originally from India and presently in Los Angeles working in a MNC as a Software Quality Assurance analyst (with a H1B visa)for the past 7 months. I've been looking to immigrate to Canada for a long time now but because of the recent changes in the NOC i think my profession( i fall under 2171) is excluded. I have five years experience in IT and I was wondering if there were any IT companies or cosultants who hired IT persons from the US? SOme of the recruiters i spoke over the phone to via Workopolis needed me to have a workpermit which i dont posses.

I know ALberta has a scheme for H1b's but it needs me to be a year in the US before i can apply for that.

Any ideas anyone especially BCGuy?

I answered your PM and by the way you should be happy to know 2171 is under the Alberta list and you dont need a job offer to come in under Alberta Strategic Stream,Welcome to Alberta and welcome to Canada.The Alberta list is separate from the 38 Federal list

The Alberta list is listed Google Alberta Occupations under Pressure and thats it
