i am a commerce bachelor degree holder from another country and i know i dont stand a chance in getting hired in any office/any job related to course without having to study again. my question is, do you know what courses/training should i enroll to be able to prepare myself. how long will it take me to finish this courses and how much do you think is the cost of education here in Alberta? just in case you guys have any idea.

thank you

by the way, i was told that i need to be reassessed so they will know if i need to enroll in subjects where i didnt excel that much. in this case, whats the first step in all these? tnx again

Cost are generally lower if you are Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

For more information on course duration, admission and fees, you can check this alberta university website:

Of course, u can upgrade or re-train by going back to college or uni in canada, once u become a PR. If u are a PR, yr cost of tuition will be local and much much cheaper. U can choose to go to a college or polytechnic to get trained in some techincal area or something specialised and get employment easier or u can decide to go to Uni and get a 2nd bachelors or a masters, all depends on yr objective. Bachelors program will run around 3 to 4 yrs and masters 2 yrs, so it all depends on what u want to achieve at the end of the day.

In Alberta, u can go to SAIT, NAIT or other colleges for 2 year Dip program while U of C and U of A or U of Lethbridge for Bachelors, masters or PHD. tuition for PRs and Canadian run around 5500 to 7000 C$ for a 2 semster year long program.

There are short-term courses in many Community colleges, polytechnics and universities. Search differenet institutions to find our suitable program for you. For example, Grant MacEvan University is conducting a one year accounting program/ two year accounting and strategic measurement program etc.. Also try to do some volunteer works, which will help you to get admission.

all the best
