Hey guys, I'm a 24 year old dude from Dubai, U.A.E (Indian Nationality though) and I'm really interested in joining a Welding Program in Ontario for the upcoming Jan 2019 or May 2019 Intake. However, my background isn't related to Welding or Skilled Trade at all.
I hold a 3 year Bachelor's Honors Degree from a British University in Dubai and has 3 years of experience as a Client Coordinator in an IT firm as well. Lately I've been getting really super sick of this industry, it's neither exciting nor rewarding. So what I have in mind is to join a 2 year Diploma (4 Sem's) course in Welding in Canada but I'm really scared if they might reject me for the Visa.
My main idea is to come back to Dubai after gaining some experience and start up a nice Welding & Fabricating Shop for Industrial items, Custom Furniture and Motorsports (Rollcages/FuelCell etc.), it's my dream. Dudes here wear fake Sunglasses and weld outside in the 45degree C heat wearing a tank top, it's really messed up and unsafe. So what do you guys think? Will I get rejected? If yes, then should I keep trying? How can I make my chances of approval pretty high? Thanks in advance for the input guys, appreciate it. God Bless you all!
