Intentions + 730 days?

Our CoPR was issued Jan 2020, expiry Aug 2020. Due to covid we haven’t landed and have received the email to reassess.
Shortly after the CoPR was issued, we were asked to write about our intentions to live in Canada: apt renting searches, job searches, what our plan was.
Because of both covid and realizing that we could save more money by staying in his country, we do not want to land right now. Then I learned about the 730 days.

Q: If they ask for details of intentions again, how do I explain a plan to grab PR and then live in this country for 3 years? Otherwise I have to lie saying that we will rent an apt and get jobs.

730 days kicks in one you have landed. You have to live in Canada for 730 days in 5 years after landing.

I think as of now, they want to know your plans to come and live Canada if your COPR was issued. Else, they have no reason to extend your COPR. You have to show intent that you will to move to Canada and search for a job after you land.

Hi All,

I am PR card holder. Date on my card is May 2019 till May 2024. I have made soft landing in may (for few days) and then came back.
Now due to some personal issues, i am planning to move to Canada permanently by March 2022. This will give me 2years and 2 months. So i believe i should be able to satisfy 760 days clause to retain PR.
If i move in march 2022, then in May 2024,
1. Will my Permanent Residence will get automatically renewed for 5 years (till 2029) ?
2. If yes , then how hard is the process ? are there rejections to renew the Permanent Residence ? Or is the PR is mostly approved ?
3. If so, will it cause any issue when applying for Citizenship ?

1) You need to send an application to renew the card first.

Yeah, you can apply for new card 9 months before existing card expires. Hoping that it wont be problem, can you reply for rest of the questions ?

Difficult to say if it's hard or easy to prepare the forms. It's like taking a written road test - some people said it was easy, while other said it was not easy. Likewise, some were approved for renewal, while others were rejected or application being returned or ask to pick up at an IRCC office.

Date on your card is not what is important it is your landing date which is in 2018.
