Hey!!
Please someone should help me i am confused. i wish to if i can add my dependents and add some family members in my PR application which i did not include them during my refugee claim. A family member who was listed under family member in my refugee claim can i now change to dependent during my PR application?
Thanks

You must list all family members in your application for permanent residence, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not. You must also provide details on family members whose location is unknown (including those missing or presumed dead). If you don’t, you will not be able to sponsor family members at a later date if they are not listed on your application.

Nope - too late. If they weren't listed in your refugee claim - it's too late to add them now.

I don't know why you wouldn't add them, considering the application is clear in asking if you have any family members. But anyhow, it's too late to add them now, they'll have to immigrate here independently.

Thanks for the reply. To be on a safe side then i will not include them.

Did you already land as a PR? If your refugee claim has not been completely processed yet, you may be able to still add them to your application.

Oh no! This makes me nervous.

Im sponsoring my husband and I dont think that he added his family members on that sheet! We werent planning on bringing them on a later date but because of the situation in Syria it might be possible.

What happens when and if I want to sponsor them in 5 years??

Who are the family members and which sheet are you referring to? Depending on how the family members are - they would not have been listed on the dependents form but would have been listed under other family members. If they were completely excluded - that's most likely going to be a problem. Anyway - additional details of who the family members are and where they were/were not listed in the application would help us to give you a more definitive answer.

Just to add - I see your husband's application is still being processed in which case there's still time to correct any errors. Note that whether you list or do not list family members in the application has nothing to do with whether you want to sponsor them later or not. You are obligation to list all family members on the appropriate forms (some may be dependents, some won't be). Failure to list family members fully is misrepresentation (again, regardless whether you are planning on sponsoring them or not).

No he definitely added them on the family sheet where you just add their information about their occupation and birthdate. But i dont think he added them on the dependant sheet because they arent his dependants.

Maybe I misunderstood.... I'm just so nervous and re-think every single thing

If they aren't dependants then they should not be listed on the dependant form and you're fine.
