Hello everyone,

I apologize if the question was asked her before.

I'm from Palestine and was living in Jordan, Met my wife in Jordan who's a dual citizen(Canada and US) then we decided to move to the USA and now living in Florida.

My wife is thinking about moving to Vancouver to pursue her higher education and we do not want to separate. the only issue is that she never lived in Canada as she was born and raised in the US and have her Canadian citizenship through her late mother.

That leads to my question:

Is she able to sponsor me without any tax history? We have some money saved up but its not a lot. What do they ask for and will she be able to sponsor me or not since she'll be studying there and not working?

sorry if the questions was asked before, tried looking for a similar case and couldn't find it.

Thank you.

Yes she can as long as she has her citizenship. Money is not necessarily required for a spousal sponsorship. They will want evidence of how you both plan to support yourselves financially. Good luck.

Additionally, you will need to provide proof that you plan to relocate to Canada and live here once PR is approved. CIC will want to see evidence that you have started to establish yourselves in Canada (e.g. proof of employment offer or evidence of active job searches, proof you either have or are actively working to secure a place to live, etc.).

Thank you both for replying to me. Any idea on how long the process takes? I currently have a decent job in an advertising agency and hoping to find similar thing over there. We're planning that she goes first start on her education then once im approved i'll follow.
