Inland visa - bit worried...

Hi all,

I am a Dutchie, currently residing in Ireland with my Canadian wife and our toddler. We plan to move to Canada come June and apply there for my residency permit the inland way. I am a bit worried about things, my wife doesn't have a job lined up (I hope to get open work permit after a few months) and our savings are rather limited, enough to see us through for half a year I'd say.

My worries are what to say at the customs about our intentions, and of course that my application might be rejected when they learn that my wife doesn't have a job lined up yet. We don't know how quick she will land one and if it will be deemed as sufficient in the eyes of the immigration office.

Any insight / experiences on financial requirements are very welcome!

Thanks...

Definitely explore that option. If that would fail, would you say they could give us a hard time? We are staying rent free for the first few months, there should be ample time to find a job + I do some freelance translating that would generate some income, but it's no full time job. Thanks...

Also, I was wondering, does anybody know whether it's wise to mention at customs that one is applying for an inland route PR? We plan to make payment prior to coming and take all paperwork with us (also I will come in on a return ticket)
