I applied for inland sponsorship on February 28 through the pr portal. I still haven’t received AOR. When I called IRCC they said it is in perspective stage, not assigned to a officer. My partner work permit expires May 29, 2026. We have seen several different answers when it comes to applying for open work permit. Can we apply for the extension without the AOR? Does this rule exist where we can apply without AOR if permit is within 2 week expiry? The agent didn’t seem to know about this exception. Can someone please assist if they have been in a similar situation? We don’t want to apply for a visitor record as we want to keep working.
