Inland Sponsorship question

Okay, here's my question.
I am currently in Canada with my wife. She is a Canadian Citizen I am a US citizen. We are just finishing up our paperwork before submitting application.
I was issues a visitor record on my recent entry into Canada in January, valid until February 21, applied for extension, they approved for only 3 months.
My question is - once we submit the sponsorship application do I automatically get "Implied status" in Canada until sponsorship goes through? Or do I have to keep requesting a visitor extension to be able to stay here?

You must continue to extend your status.

Thank you for the quick reply. Guess I will just have to keep applying to extend.

Once you have submitted the PR app, you can include proof of it in your extension app and request longer. Usually when they see that you've applied for PR, they will grant the longer extension.
